Veronica Bunn and
Christopher Bunn

Audrey
Veronica Bunn and
Christopher Bunn are a husband-and-wife team of
artists who live in Venice. Audrey is jewelry artisan
and Christopher is a photographer. Says Audrey’s
website,
www.bluelagoonified.com: “Bluelagoonified emerged
from our way of living ... my husband and I live a Blue
Lagoon lifestyle on the island of Venice. I have an
outdoor studio where I create my one of a kind glass
beads with my flame-throwing torch. I get my ideas and
inspirations from the gifts of nature around me. I find
my focal treasures mostly from the seaside in Florida
and on trips recently taken to Death Valley and Laguna
Beach, California.” She incorporates tumbled stones,
bamboo, and gems such as pearls, turquoise and coral
into her necklace, bracelet, earring and anklet
collections. She also makes beach wedding jewelry and
items for pets.
Christopher grew up in London and was introduced to
photography at a very young age. His first job was as a
“junior photographer” at a London commercial photography
studio. Christopher still works on the commercial
photography field and his timeless and classic
portraitures have been published in national and
international magazines. Away from his commercial
assignments, Christopher continues to pursue his romance
with light creating personal photographs, perhaps at one
moment choosing a lens-less pin-hole camera, then at
another his antique 1926 8"x10" camera. For his unique
“organic” works, shown here, Audrey creates the outfits
for the subjects from objects found in nature, cleverly
combining a feel that’s reminiscent of the 1920s with
the native style of the islands. |

[ asolo rep ]
Webster’s defines “repertory” as “b: a company that presents several
different plays, operas, or pieces usually alternately in the course of a
season at one theater; c: a theater housing such a company.” In the case of
our very own Asolo Repertory Theatre,
both definitions work for our needs. Right now, The Asolo Rep has three
plays from which to choose: “The
Imaginary Invalid,” “Visiting
Mr. Green” and “The
Winter’s Tale.” No room here to describe all three, so click the links
above and read more. |

[ two freebies ]
BREATHE by Javon Johnson - Sunday, Feb 22 at 10:00 pm in the Cook Theatre -
"BREATHE was inspired by all of the senseless crimes and the innocent
victims whose meaningful lives have been taken ... and the ever-looming
question of who's responsible," explains Johnson, a protégé of the late
August Wilson. "This play is an attempt to recognize that all crimes are a
result of the human condition and that maybe the cure lies not in
'drive-by's in the hood' or school shootings in the suburbs' but in
stripping ourselves free of the social prejudices that won't allow us to see
past the fence to our neighbor's house to see we both seek shelter under the
same roof ... survival." BREATHE is to be performed as a staged reading; run
time is just under two hours.
