Welcome to anythingarts.com Manatee Edition, an electronic newsletter, by artists for artists, distributed by email every two weeks to promote everything from the funky avant garde to high brow mainstream art. Thank you for helping us make anythingarts.com so successful!

Dear AnythingArts.com readers,

We are thrilled to present the first issue of our new Bradenton/Manatee County edition of AnythingArts.com. Kelly Fores is serving as our Manatee editor-at-large. In addition to large numbers of local readers, we are excited to have subscribers in a couple of dozen states and in the UK, Luxembourg, Ireland, Belgium, France, Germany, Argentina and Mexico. We have surpassed 2,800 subscribers and we are quickly approaching another 5,000 unique visitors to our website each month.

Past issues of AnythingArts.com have included information about both Sarasota and Manatee county events and artists. This new edition is an experiment; we will do a few issues and if readers will forward it to their friends and if we get 1,000 subscribers by May 1 and can sell a couple ads (the brutal face of reality) we will make it a permanent edition. So, we need your help AnythingArts.com readers! Please help us spread the word by forwarding this issue to everyone you know and suggest they sign up. Please forward this issue and send your Manatee County press releases and notices to Kelly@AnythingArts.com.

Enjoy!

Featured Artists
Village of the Arts, Bradenton

In 1999, the Artists Guild of Manatee, Inc. was formed to establish the Village of the Arts. The dream was a community where artists of all disciplines could live, work and prosper while enhancing quality of life and creating a harmonious environment.

With the help of city officials, a blighted walk-to-town community began its rebirth. Sidewalks and lighting were improved, but more importantly, a bunch of old Florida bungalows that could easily have been bulldozed got bright facelifts and new life in the form of galleries, working studios, shops (no - emporiums!), bakeries, cafés and more. Today, this artists’ colony is the largest on the Suncoast with nearly 40 buildings making up the now-quaint, picturesque showplace. Still, that’s a relatively small number of artists devoting their lives to keeping the Village alive, and that’s why each one of them receives our recognition as a featured artist.

Events in the Village abound, as you will see as you continue reading this, our fascinating first Manatee edition of anythingarts.com. In addition to happenings at individual locations, the Village artists collaborate on many events throughout the year including the French Market, holiday celebrations, competitions, poetry slams, garden walks, fashion shows, and art walks the first weekend of every month – so visit this weekend (and buy something), we recommend it! [ photo business for sale ]

This business is ideal for a scrapbook enthusiast looking to expand their home based business into the retail world, or for a couple looking to "retire" in sunny Sarasota, FL. Please call Herb at 941-359-3456 or email studio@boothstudio.com and request the business proposal paperwork. Ready to sell. Make them an offer they can't refuse!
