make
anythingarts.com
so successful!
Featured Artist

Ted Mase)
In this issue, we don’t have a specific Featured
Artist because “it’s all about you” and we want to tell
you how we will soon feature ALL ARTISTS. On March 6,
AnythingArts.com will debut a brand new companion
website to our newsletter. The new site will contain
tons of information and provide exposure for artists of
all media. We are offering free web pages to artists,
actors, photographers, writers, etc. The pages contain
your photos, your biography of up to 500 words and your
full contact information including a link to your
website. Check out the sample: We also debuted our
Manatee County Edition of AnythingArtsNewletter.com last
week,
check it out.
Editors Note: The AnythingArts.com group went to
Circus Sarasota
on opening night Friday and thoroughly enjoyed
it. The intimate single ring circus is full of
excitement and some absolutely entertaining acts from
around the world. Circus Sarasota is a big step-up from
what audiences of three-ring circuses are accustomed,
and we highly recommend that you not miss the
opportunity to see it.
Circus Sarasota
runs just through February 24th.

[ duchess at conservatory ]About the
Duchess of Malfi; “This is a terrific piece of Jacobean
theater, full of passion and fury and huge characters in a very
heightened drama,” says
FSU/Asolo Conservatory director Greg Leaming. “It's one of
the great plays of world theater, and still as
disturbing and violent as when it was first produced in the 17th
century. It's an extremely challenging play and presents our
students with huge and exciting challenges.” Order tickets now
for this production at the FSU/Asolo Conservatory opening
February 27.

seems to have filled a niche with it's Artist’s Market. So much so, in fact,
The Metro
is expanding it to two Saturdays per month. The Artist’s Market is a place
for artists and patrons to mingle, show their work, sell some things, eat, drink and be merry. The fun runs from 11:00 am to 11:00 pm
because they are there when you can make it. “There
has been such a positive response from everyone in our community,” says
Artists’ Market Coordinator, Brandy Boyd. “This market has far surpassed my
expectations. Sarasota is indeed a community that embraces art culture. We
hope more and more local artists will participate.” For more information or

[ soldier’s play ]The Westcoast
Black Theatre Troupe presents “A Soldier’s Play” at the
Historic Asolo Theater to
recognize and celebrate Black
History Month. From Wikipedia, “A
Soldier's Play" was a Pulitzer Prize-winning drama written by Charles
Fuller in 1982. This play uses a murder mystery to explore the complicated
feelings of anger and resentment that some black Americans have toward one
another,
and the ways in which many black Americans have absorbed white racist
attitudes. The play was originally staged by the Negro
Ensemble Company. The cast included Adolph Caesar as Sergeant Waters and
Denzel Washington as Private Peterson. Both Caesar
and Washington reprised their roles in the movie version, A Soldier's Story,
