Mark Chew

Mark Chew grew up as a welder in the Midwest with a
strong passion to create. He was mentored by some of
the best instructors and has developed his own unique
style. Mark received a Bachelor's degree in Engineering
from Purdue University. Since moving to Florida, he has
focused on design and metal working. Most of his
artwork has an industrial dimension, based upon
experiences in the machine tool and aerospace
industries; powerful abstract works that have been
energized through stainless steel, low carbon steel,
brass, and aluminum medium. Metal has to burn and
sparks must fly in creating his unique designs. He has
also designed his own line of custom bicycles, some of
which have appeared on CBS's The Price is Right and The
Discovery Channel's American Chopper. His work has
reached across North America and Asia, into many private
collections. Mark has been inspired by all of his
travels and experiences with diverse cultures and gained
notoriety for his custom "Liquid Metal" stainless steel
creations that mix mirrored polished surfaces with rough
cut exposed surfaces that twist and flow through the
sculpture. (Note: I was going to write something
original and then decided to just cut and paste from
this re markable artist’s site; pun very much
intended. So much of what is written above was pinched
from his site.) ( click
