Meet Jeanne Corcoran Director,
Sarasota County Film and Entertainment Office

Jeanne
Corcoran will assume the role as Director of the new
Film and Entertainment Office on February 20. The
position may be new to Sarasota, but Jeanne is returning
to her roots here and looking forward to it. For the
past several years Jeanne has been a film commissioner
and production manager for the State of Nevada Film
Office in Las Vegas. While there, Jeanne facilitated the
production of thousands of projects from major studio
films to small indies. She is a member of the
Association of Film Commissioners International, the
National Association of Television Programming
Executives and Women in Film, among other industry
groups. Jeanne has been an administrator for Nevada’s
annual screenwriter’s competition, the oldest of its
kind in the nation. She has sold two feature length
screenplays and received numerous awards and nominations
for her work. In her “spare time,” Jeanne works on
programs designed to aid in childhood literacy and
authored The Meanie Bug & Other Silly Creatures, a
children’s book. Jeanne’s television show,
The Storygenie, has been aired throughout the
States, Europe and Asia. Phew, and if that wasn’t
enough, she has been a professional stage, film and
television actress. Welcome home Jeanne! (click
